Tenor

Daniel Marles is a high tenor from Leeds, studying in his final year at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire under Cathy Benson. He sings with Jeffrey Skidmore in Ex Cathedra, performing under a scholarship with their professional consort and the main choir. Daniel is a regular soloist with Ex Cathedra and appears on their most recent CD, as well as singing the Tenor II solos in their upcoming Matthew Passion. Daniel was a member of the 23/24 Genesis 16 cohort, singing under Harry Christophers and Eamonn Dougan which he greatly enjoyed.
Daniel is in high demand as a high tenor and looks forward to a full season of concerts across the UK, music from the French Baroque and Bach Passions, to opera and recordings with contemporary composers. He sings regularly with the Birmingham Oratory choir, and supports the CBSO chorus in a professional capacity, performing with them at the BBC Proms and on their tour to Monte Carlo, as well as with new compositions and world premieres. Daniel supports Echo choir, directed by Sarah Latto, in various performances, favourites including a run of shows in Sadler’s Wells Theatre, choral tours across Edinburgh and Glasgow, and community workshops in prisons. He looks forward to their upcoming participation in the Orkney Music Festival.
